Three routes people ask for

Starting points, not fixed menus. Pick one, mix them, or tell us something else entirely.

  • Most bookedA couple on a Vespa in front of the Colosseum

    First time in Rome

The classics, done properly: the engine off long enough at each stop to actually look. The same route as the shared tour, at your own pace.

    2h 30m · any departure
  • Best lightThe view over Rome at sunset from the Janiculum

    Sunset and viewpoints

Built around the last hour of light, when Rome turns the colour everybody photographs. The one private groups ask for most.

    19:00 · 15:30 in winter
  • For returnersSeeing Rome like a local, away from the crowds

    The Rome you missed

For repeat visitors. Nothing on this list is in a guidebook top ten, and a Vespa is the only sensible way to link them in one afternoon.

    2h 30m · any departure
Or something else entirely

A proposal at a viewpoint, a birthday, three generations of one family riding together, an afternoon built around a single neighbourhood. Message us before you book with what you have in mind and we’ll tell you honestly whether it fits in two and a half hours — better now than rushing it on the day.

What’s included

Included

  • Licensed guide, two and a half hours, your group only
  • Vespa 125cc and fuel
  • Sanitised helmets and disposable liners
  • Third-party liability insurance
  • Parking sorted at every stop
  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before

Not included

  • Damage to the Vespa if you drive — that’s what the hold covers
  • Food and drinks
  • Entrance tickets — nothing on this route is ticketed

Driving yourself? Check these first

  • Real scooter experience — Rome isn’t where you learn
  • A full driving licence. A car licence is fine for a 125 in Italy, and the original card has to be with you
  • An International Driving Permit if your licence is non-EU. Get it at home — it can’t be issued in Italy
  • 18 or over, and a credit card in the rider’s name for a €500 hold per Vespa

None of this applies if you ride as a passenger: no licence, no deposit, nothing to check. Mixed groups are fine — some of you drive, the rest ride behind.

Where we start Via della Madonna dei Monti 57, 00184 Rome Five minutes on foot from the Colosseum, in Monti. Metro B, Cavour. The ride is a loop, so you finish where you started. Arrive 15 minutes early if anyone in the group is driving.

You drive, two up

FAQ

What people ask before they book.

How many people can join a private Vespa tour?

Any size. Small groups ride together behind the guide; larger ones split across more Vespas with extra drivers. Tell us the numbers when you book and we arrange the bikes.

Can some of us drive while others ride as passengers?

Yes, and most groups do exactly that. Only the people actually driving need a licence and the deposit; everyone else just turns up.

Can we really choose the route?

Within two and a half hours, yes. Message us before you book with what you want to see and the guide will tell you honestly what fits and what doesn’t — better that than rushing it on the day.

Can a private tour run at sunset?

The 19:00 departure rides into the last hour of light, and it’s the one private groups ask for most. In winter the 15:30 does the same thing, because the light goes earlier.

We’re planning a proposal. Can you help?

We’ve done a few. Message us first with what you have in mind: the viewpoint, the timing, whether anyone else is in on it. The guide can handle the logistics so you only have to worry about the question.

Can children come?

Children ride as passengers with one of our drivers, not on a parent’s Vespa. Tell us ages when you book and we’ll confirm what works — it depends on size as much as age.

Do I need a licence to book?

Only if you want to drive. Ride as a passenger and there’s nothing to check. If you do want to drive, a car licence covers a 125cc in Italy, plus an International Driving Permit for non-EU licences.

What happens if it rains?

We move you rather than send you out in it. Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll find another slot — four departures a day makes it easy. If nothing in your trip works, we refund.

What’s the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before, refunded in full, and you can move the booking in the same window. Inside 48 hours the booking isn’t refundable, because the guide and the Vespas are held for your group alone. Rain is the exception.

Can I buy a private tour as a gift?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll set up a voucher with an open date, which is easier if the travel dates aren’t fixed.
